Holy Temple church, using his talent of music to the glory of God. He played the clarinet in the church band. He was active in youth service, street services and revivals. He was and is faithful to his leaders,
Apostle Lobias Murray and Evang. Shirley Murray, and the Full Gospel Ministry, Inc.
On February 23, 1973, Bishop Cannon became the devoted husband of
Evang. Jacquelyn Cannon, and to this union they were blessed with five children. Jermia, Jeremy, Paul III, Jennifer, and Jon.
In
May of 1977, Bishop Cannon became pastor of Nash Full Gospel Holy Temple Church. He (along with his family) made many sacrifices so the ministry could be blessed. He came into the work determined to do God's will.
No sacrifice was too great. He persevered in the faith. The Nash family was very small when Bishop came and he preached the Word of God without fear or favor, and he preached it under the anointing. Countless souls were saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. God saved from all walks of life; from the business owner to the crack addict. God filled their small chapel and they needed more room to expand and do a greater work for God. Bishop began to seek God's directions in this matter.
God gave the Bishop a plan to build a debt-free edifice. Following God's instructions and making additional sacrifices, the temple became a reality. In
1993 the Nash Full Gospel family entered their new sanctuary debt-free. Since entering the new temple other outreach ministries have been implemented, such as the prison ministry. Their services have aired on television (channel 10 KLFI). The response from viewers was overwhelming.
Under the leadership of Bishop Cannon, many outreach ministries were born for the furtherance of the gospel. Radio Broadcasts, a Christian Newsletter called "The Gospel Arising" that goes across the country quarterly-free of charge, a Video & Audio Cassette Ministry, Bus Ministry, Street Service Ministry, a Prison Ministry, the Helping Hands Ministry, and an educational program for the children called The Bishop's Kids: Operation EXCEL, and many others.
Pastor Cannon was ordained 2nd Bishop of the Full Gospel Holy Temple Churches, Inc. in 1991. Bishop Cannon is the president of the
Annual Youth Congress. He has made full proof of his ministry. He has conducted numerous revivals across the state of Texas and the country. He has preached in doors and out under the gospel tent. He has been preaching continuously, consistently, and fervently for over 35 years (over 30 years as pastor). When he was not in his own pulpit preaching, he was somewhere else preaching. He is also an outstanding and active citizen in the community as well.
Bishop Cannon loves God, he loves the ministry, he loves the souls of men, he loves his leaders and he loves his family. He has a heart of gold! Talented, smart,.. he could have been a research scientist, but thank God he heeded the call of God and surrendered to His will. Bishop Cannon has rendered over 30 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Nash Full Gospel ministry.
Certainly, Bishop Cannon is a man of God. He is empowered by the Holy Ghost and determined to win the lost at any cost. He is a preacher of the Word of God and he loves and values all of it. One of his favorite scriptures is found in Philippians 4:13,
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
